Maybank, North East CDC and partners take financial literacy to the lower income

ON July 27, Maybank Singapore and North East CDC launched the Maybank Happy Savers @ North East. The public-private partnership aims to empower lower-income families to embark on financial planning for the future. Over 150 children and their family members in the North East District turned up for the event at KidZania Singapore. The three-year comprehensive financial education programme is the first of its kind in the North East District.
Mayor of North East District Desmond Choo and deputy CEO of Maybank Singapore Allen Ng officiated the programme at KidZania Singapore. Mr Choo said: "In a bid to help our lower-income residents to become more financially independent, North East CDC has partnered with Maybank, AMP (Association of Muslim Professionals) and CCS (Credit Counselling Singapore) to provide a holistic platform for them to gain access to financial literacy and debt management resources.
