    ROSS W Duffin was wandering through a museum in Pasadena, California, last summer when he paused before a 17th-century painting of a bearded warrior in armour.

    "I thought, 'Wow, that is really funny. He looks just like me,'" Duffin recalled. Then he moved on.

    But his wife, Beverly Simmons, was stunned by the resemblance. "She came running after me and said, 'You have to come back and look at this painting!' " Duffin said.
