Memories Of City Hall
A multimedia exhibition recounts pivotal moments of Singapore's history within the walls of this grand dame.
IF CITY HALL was a person, imagine the stories it could tell as one who has lived through Singapore's transformation from British colony to city-state. That's why the exhibition City Hall: If Walls Could Talk couldn't be more aptly named.
Now in its new role as the National Gallery Singapore, it houses the long-term exhibition in the City Hall Chamber, recreating defining historical events with augmented interactive content.
The experience begins with you snapping a shot of yourself in the photo kiosk before entering the Chamber. Once inside, Encik Awang - a character inspired by a real-life caretaker - recounts key events that took place in and around City Hall, as images are flashed on screens mounted on the walls.
