IF the people around you start dropping their clothes as veteran English rock group Def Leppard tears into their anthemic 1987 hit Pour Some Sugar On Me, don't panic. "I have seen people start to act like strippers when that song comes on - even guys!" muses the band's guitarist, Phil Collen, over the phone from California where he now resides.

Formed in 1977 and often credited for leading a new wave in British Heavy Metal, Def Leppard also has Joe Elliot on vocals, Vivian Campbell on guitar, Rick Savage on bass and Rick Allen on drums. They will return to perform in Singapore for the first time in almost two decades next Tuesday.

"It's the groove of that song that makes it great to dance to," Collen continues. "That's why I think it's turned into a stripper's anthem."
