MO Bar’s new menu waves to Singapore’s past, present and future
The Mandarin Oriental bar is serving up new ways to look at cocktails – literally
[SINGAPORE] Commanding panoramic views of Marina Bay through its floor-to-ceiling windows, Mandarin Oriental’s MO Bar draws inspiration from Asia’s historic trading ports and the Pacific Ocean.
Its design mimics the intimate quarters of a boat, said bar manager Charlie Kim. There are touches of wood in a sea of blues, including teal walls adorned with modern art. Cabinets displaying an array of antique bar tools sourced from historic port cities add a layer of storytelling.
The 80-seater bar includes a 25-seater area – dubbed the “captain’s corner” by Kim – that can be closed off, offering an exclusive retreat for private events.
