MORE than S$520,000 has been raised with the support of a Tote Board matching grant at the Breast Cancer Foundation’s (BCF) Tee for Pink Charity Golf event.
Held on May 18, about 100 golfers gathered at Tanah Merah Country Club to raise funds and awareness for BCF.
“Most of us know of people or families whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer,” said Ken Khoo, the foundation’s executive committee member and chair of the BCF Charity Golf committee.
“Tee for Pink Charity Golf is a signature event for BCF because of the continued support of golf lovers – many of whom are men – who have come together to play their part to support this cause,” he added.
The amount raised will go towards the setting up of two Breast Cancer Support Centres in hospitals here, as well as to fund programmes and services at the centres.
Julian Chia, the Men’s Champion and hole-in-one winner, said: “I’m always happy to be able to support an important cause such as this, and to be able to play a round of golf with good friends, on a day with great weather, is an added bonus.”
