Makeover Magic

The Mercedes-Benz CLA may have made a statement for its four-door coupé styling when it was unveiled nearly four years ago, but it was probably its distinction as the most affordable sedan with a three-pointed star that most buyers were more interested in.

The latter detail may have waned somewhat, but no matter. For 2017, the German automaker has jazzed up the so-called CLA Coupé slightly and softened any hard edges that may have been there.

The 4.64-metre long compact saloon with its generous 2,699 mm wheelbase still looks trendy, except that LED headlamps have replaced the previous bi-xenon.
