Song wins S'pore Open

WITH the world No 1 in attendance, an impressive Asian and Japan Tour field, and a Monday morning finish, this year's Singapore Open had plenty of elements to make it an exciting and memorable event for both players and golf fans.

Making a welcome return after a three-year hiatus, this year's US$1 million SMBC Singapore Open, which took place on Sentosa Golf Club's Serapong course, concluded on Feb 1 due to inclement weather which caused multiple delays over the four days.

Jordan Spieth, making his first appearance in Singapore, thrilled the crowd with his precision putting and spirited play, yet it was Song Young Han who won the tournament after a "sleepless" Sunday night.
