Team Boustead swing into lead
With one round left, they shoot a superb 112 at Seletar to move to the top of the table with an overall total of 433.
THERE may have been a rain-delayed start to the fifth round of this year's Business Times Corporate Golf League, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm or competitiveness of the participants who teed off at Seletar Country Club on Wednesday. With only one round to go, Team Boustead shot a superb score of 112 to move to the top of the table with an overall total of 433. Team Emerio, Team Seagull Gayatri and Team Citi share second spot with 422 each. The Abeo Electra team also shot a 112 at Seletar to win top team of the round (OCB) and is now in fifth place with 420.
This year's rules stipulate that while the total cumulative team scores are compiled after each round of the league, only the top four team scores from the first five rounds of the series will be used to cumulate a new total going into the final round. The team score from the sixth and final round will then be added. The team with the highest cumulative team score (final round plus best four of the first five rounds) will be the winner of The Business Times Corporate Golf League.
In addition to Team Boustead scoring 112 at Seletar, its team member William Tay won the Best Stableford score with a total of 40 points. Says Team Boustead's Adrian Chu: "We're happy and we feel motivated that we're up there. It's surprising and we didn't expect it but everyone has put in their best." He adds: "We are going to be short of players during the final round as they will be overseas travelling so we don't know if we can put the best team out."
