Apichatpong Weerasethakul is one of the world's most acclaimed arthouse filmmakers. His 2010 film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives nabbed the prestigious 2010 Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or prize, making him the first Southeast Asian filmmaker to win it.
