Muscling in on the action
Andreuw Tang, founder of Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW) and a fighter himself, is turning the dreams of local WWE fanatics into reality.
WHAT goes through your mind when you watch The Rock on TV, delivering his trademark eyebrow raise after crushing yet another opponent in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ring? One: "I wish I were The Rock"; or Two: "Is that guy really hurt or is it all an act?"
You can't do anything about the first thought, but to find out more about the second, you'll need to sign up at Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW) - the city's one and only training centre for people who want to push other people around with considerable force.
SPW's co-founder and operations director Andreuw Tang has been fascinated with WWE since he was 10 years old, and "after finishing my National Service, I even wanted to go to the US to try my hand at professional wrestling because there wasn't a viable training facility here".
