PHILADELPHIA’S indie rock luminaries,The War on Drugs, are heading back to Singapore this December. It has been five years since they performed here – when they brought closed out the Singapore edition of the Laneway Festival in 2018.

Incidentally, the day after that particular headlining show, The War on Drugs won the Best Rock Album Grammy for their 2017 album, A Deeper Understanding. The upcoming gig will be their only Asian headline concert of 2023. The band has been touring the world over the last two years in support of its fifth record, I Don’t Live Here Anymore (2021).

Comprising Adam Granduciel (vocals, guitar), David Hartley (bass guitar), Robbie Bennett (keyboards), Charlie Hall (drums), Jon Natchez (saxophone, keyboards), Anthony LaMarca (guitar), and Eliza Hardy Jones (percussion, keyboards), The War on Drugs has become synonymous with their ethereal soundscapes and heartfelt lyrics.
