Fast & Furious
It's common for musicians to drop "surprise" albums on their fans: U2 (Songs of Innocence), Radiohead (King of Limbs) and even the late David Bowie (The Next Day) have all done it, and the latest to follow suit is Eminem. Kamikaze appeared out of the blue two Fridays ago after Eminem sent out the tweet: "Tried not 2 overthink this 1... enjoy." It comes about nine months after his last album Revival. As usual, the rapper doesn't hold back and right off the bat on the opening track, The Ringer, hits out at the likes of current American president Donald Trump and fellow rapper Lil Yachty. Even those who have no beef with him get dissed - like pop star Drake who gets smacked down not once but twice on two separate songs (the title track and Fall). It's not the rap icon's most engaging work but Kamikaze could well be his angriest.
Eminem's Kamikaze is out now digitally and is available for pre-order on vinyl, cassette tape and CD from https://shop.eminem.com/
