ION Orchard's eight-month-long celebrations for its 8th anniversary this year is hitting its peak on Friday evening with a free outdoor fashion concert highlighted by South Korean celebrity Yook Sung-jae from the K-pop boy band BtoB.
It will be the singer's first solo performance, in an event that will also feature local band 53A, as well as a fashion show with 24 models showcasing the latest Autumn/Winter collections by fashion and luxury labels such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Dsquared2, Carven, DKNY and Hardy Hardy. It will begin at 7pm at ION and be streamed live on the building's two exterior screens.
Chris Chong, chief executive of Orchard Turn Developments Pte Ltd which manages ION Orchard, says it brought in Yook as "the K-pop wave is now very popular and easy to enjoy ... (he) is a young, trendy, and fashion-forward celebrity, so he's aligned with our identity".
