AUSSIE rock legends Midnight Oil might not be a household name like AC/DC or INXS, but there is no denying their importance.

Known for mixing politics with their music and actively championing everything from environmental conservation to human rights, "the Oils" (as their fans nickname them) couldn't have chosen a better time to reform as issues like global warming and terror threats dominate newspaper headlines everyday.

It's no wonder the band is selling out shows around the world on its current The Great Circle Tour, which included a stop in Singapore on Wednesday evening at The Star.
