THERE have been many Asian wrestlers competing in the WWE over the past few decades, but few actually go on to reach "main event" status at the American sports entertainment company.
One superstar who's making headline these days is Shinsuke Nakamura, a former mixed martial artist from Japan who has already won scores of major wrestling championships - from his early days at New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and since he signed for WWE in early-2016.
On the night of June 27, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, the Kyoto native will attempt to add the WWE Universal Championship to his resume when he squares off against defending champion Seth Rollins in the main event.
