THE annual architecture festival Archifest hits the streets for the first time in its 17-year history when it moves out of the URA Centre and takes over Kampong Gelam. With the theme of “Interim”, the festival explores the concept of change and how architecture is evolving to create inclusive and responsible design solutions for a better future.

In Friday’s edition of BT Lifestyle, find out what’s in store for the festival as we take a tour of the beautiful installations that have been erected in Kampong Gelam – from a series of intricate arbours bearing contemplative poetry to a bright new communal space characterised by interconnected tables in the shape of food trays.

Continuing the architecture theme, visit the Namly home of a family who converted their former Balinese style detached house into a modern tropical resort.

Meanwhile, for fashion and beauty lovers, learn about the latest beauty trend that sees luxury brands charging upwards of S$100 for status symbol lipsticks – and they’re selling like hotcakes. Also, we review The Super Models, a new TV show that tracks the rise and fall of Cindy Crawford, Christie Turlington, Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista.

In Dining, settle in for some local fare at Justin’s, a new gastro-cafe in Orchard Road that serves upscale hawker favourites such as lobster Hokkien mee.

Get all this and more in Friday’s issue of BT.
