New kids on the block

MENTION VC and, for South-east Asia, some "usual suspects" spring to mind.

For the longest time, the region's venture capital scene has been dominated by the pioneers who laid the foundation of the ecosystem over the past decade. And they have mostly tended to be male and ex-bankers armed with a prestigious MBA.

But there's now new blood on the scene, with myriad dreams and ambitions. Question is - can they step out of the shadow of their predecessors ?
