The New Piano Man

Don't worry if you've never heard of Tom Odell. The English singer-songwriter is probably the music industry's best kept secret, though in a perfect world, he would be a lot less underrated.

A piano virtuoso, the 28-year-old writes songs in the vein of his heroes Elton John and Billy Joel; and wears his heart plainly on his sleeves. He prefers to pen tunes that are honest, even if that means they revolve mostly around his "inability to sustain a relationship with someone for longer than six months".

Odell was talent spotted by Lily Allen back in 2012 and his debut album Long Way Down won the prestigious BRIT Award for Critic's Choice. His latest record Jubilee Road was released last October and he is currently on the road promoting it.
