BEST film, director plus original screenplay for Alberto Rodríguez, lead actor, production design, editing, as well as cinematography and score among a haul of 10 Goya Awards, or Spain's equivalent of the Academy Awards. The 2015 Spanish noir thriller Marshland grips from the start and leaves a chill.

Two Madrid homicide detectives are sent south to a remote rural village in Andalucía to investigate the disappearance of a pair of teenage sisters in this crime drama.

They uncover a history of adolescent girls raped and murdered, many of the victims sadistically mutilated.
