Off the grid ways to enjoy nature
BEING unable to travel over the last two years has led many locals and expats to check out the country's outdoor offerings, such as cycling along the park connectors and the Rail Corridor.
But that hasn't been enough for some people who want to connect with nature in more novel ways. Take Joanna Cheng-Ajlani for example. During pre-pandemic days, she and her husband would take their two daughters on annual trips that "push the kids out of their comfort zone", says the executive director of a commodities trading firm. "We were also very bored with the typical staycation."
Late last year, the family went on a 2-day/1-night Mongolian yurt getaway at a campsite in Yishun with boutique travel firm Beyond Expeditions.
