Old me, 'new normal'
Befuddled in a familiar place
STEPPING into the office after working from home for... (I'd lost track of time) was befuddling, to say the least.
There was a sense of disequilibrium as the surroundings were familiar, but most of the people weren't. After a series of muddles that started with me trying to get through the office's main gates with my EZ-Link card, and then taking a moment to wonder which level I was headed to, I finally arrived. But not before mistaking a new colleague for an older one - much to my chagrin.
An increasing number of people are heading back to the office and trying to adapt to the so-called "new normal". So I guess it is safe to assume I am not alone in trying to navigate this state of affairs.
