Out of the box, a complex statement
PUT some locusts in a white shoebox, light it up nicely around the perimeter, and you might have something like Arts Fission's The Locust Wrath, a site-specific dance at Artspace@HeluTrans Gallery.
The dance piece was imagined as a human embodiment of locusts/insects' movements - executed as a tightly choreographed piece with a strong concept and soundtrack.
The Locust Wrath was one of the more sophisticated dance productions seen in Singapore - from concept to execution. It was ambitious and yet managed not to look gimmicky as some dances with big ideas can be.
