Over-the-top superhero showdown
The humour-free plot is convoluted and the action threatens to border on over-kill.
YOU'RE bound to ask yourself a couple of questions before catching Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice as Zack Snyder's highly-anticipated and ambitious heavyweight title bout lands in cinemas this week.
What in Gotham City is the Caped Crusader (Ben Affleck) doing in Metropolis? What does he have against the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill)? And why isn't Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) mentioned in the title when she's the best thing in this messy spectacle?
Don't expect much of an answer because unravelling this convoluted humour-free plot alone will require some sort of PhD in Comic Book Mythology. Screenwriters David S Goyer and Chris Terrio grab the chance to go deep, turning Dawn of Justice into a fanboy film for nerds to geek out to.
