A peek at the flipside of her stage personality

IMAGINE setting the audience off into fits of laughter the moment you take to the stage. Actor Judee Tan has that quality in her well-loved and instantly recognisable comedic roles (as seen in TV satire The Noose, Christmas annual stage show Chestnuts, and Dream Academy's productions). In her upcoming break-out solo show, however, Tan aims to reveal more of who she really is, rather than the roles she has played.

"The other side of Judee is her training in music and dance, and that's what the show will focus more on," says director Jonathan Lim.

Nu Men: The Wild Woman Sings is going to be a gritty cabaret, with the songs picked to best reflect her life as a performer, says Lim. "We met a long time ago when she was a student, even before she started being part of Chestnuts.
