Pencil Art
Jaime Ee
If the last time you held a colour pencil was when you were five years old or as a parent guiding your kids with their first colouring books, catch the tail-end of Faber-Castell's art exhibition aimed at making colouring fun again. There are art sculptures made out of the brand's trademark pencils by international artists such as Kerstin Schulz from Germany, and miniature sculptures of Singapore's iconic landmarks by Indonesian artist, Muhamad Taufik, who creates tiny versions of the Capitol and Cathay buildings. Take part in hands-on classes that teach you everything from calligraphy to caricature drawing. Check out too the new 'Colour To Life' experience, which combines pencil colouring with an Augmented Reality (AR) based application which brings your finished work to life. After colouring characters in a book, the pages are scanned via a QR code into a free app which generates games you can play with the newly animated characters.
The festival ends on June 3 at Marina Square Central Atrium from 10am to 9pm.
