Junior The Pocket Bar reopens in its new location, but has kept its signature traits

JUNIOR The Pocket Bar has kept its signature traits - cosiness, creativity, a spot in the Outram-Tanjong Pagar drinking district - even as it grows, with the move to a slightly larger space and the addition of core menus alongside its usual rotating concept.
"I think we've really tried to keep what people liked about Junior, and just ... made more of it," says proprietor Joe Alessandroni.
The bar reopened in its new location in October. Tucked away behind Maxi Coffee Bar on Ann Siang Hill, the still-snug space seats 25, with lamp-lit tables and cushioned benches curving around the central bar. "You can make eye contact with the bartender from anywhere in the house," he notes. "It keeps the energy a little more communal."
