Edith Podesta is one of the most exciting theatre practitioners in Singapore. Several of her plays have been incisive explorations of complex topics such as incarceration in Singapore, contemporary feminism and the word "b****".
Her new play Leda And The Rage looks at one woman's journey of recovery after a devastating incident. Podesta casts the story within the world of art, literature and cinema, and looks at post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from a variety of perspectives. Leda And The Rage includes references to rape and sexual assault, and thus admits only audiences aged 16 and above. All shows are also sign-language interpreted.
Leda And The Rage runs from April 26 to 29 at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. Tickets from Sistic.
