Premier art fair cancelled at the last minute

ART Stage Singapore, long regarded as Singapore's biggest visual art fair, is cancelling the event just eight days before it's scheduled to open at Marina Bay Sands.

Gallerists, artists and collectors have been left stranded after Art Stage president and former fair director Lorenzo Rudolf sent an e-mail on Wednesday morning telling participating galleries and artists to "cease all preparations... or to reverse them". No reason was given then.
