Prodigies Face Off

Some of the best young violin talents in the world are here to compete in the triennial Singapore International Violin Competition 2018. This week, the contest kicks into high gear with the finals on Feb 5 and 6 when the musical prodigies perform at the Victoria Concert Hall with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Orchestra conducted by distinguished artist-in-residence Shlomo Mintz.
Subsequently, the best of the best proceed to the grand final on Feb 8 where they will play with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Joshua Tan at the Esplanade Concert Hall. The winner of the inaugural 2015 competition, Taiwan's Yu-Chien Tseng, went on to cut an album with famous music label Naxos.
