R&A introduces Ready Golf to speed up pace of play

IN yet another move to hasten the pace of play in golf, the Royal and Ancient (R&A) will introduce "Ready Golf" at all its amateur events this year.

This is one of the rule changes being made amid complaints of golf being a long, tedious game that takes up too much time for players.

In the last year or so, golf's ruling bodies, R&A and the United States Golf Association, have introduced a series of rule changes to enhance play, such as placing the ball instead of dropping it during situations when the ball is plugged.
