Race towards sustainability
AFTER a two-year hiatus, high-speed racing will be back in the heart of downtown Singapore this year - with one key difference.
The Singapore Grand Prix will be greener and cleaner, in line with broader efforts by Formula One, and the republic, to reduce carbon emissions. After all, as a global touring motor sports event, F1 is a highly carbon-intensive sport, with a very heavy carbon footprint -- from the cars themselves, the teams and entourages as they travel around the world, to the fans flying in and travelling to the races.
Brunch, in The Business Times Weekend, looks at the climate-friendly initiatives to be adopted around the Marina Bay Street Circuit in the first weekend of October.
