Reduce, reuse, recycle: Meet business people who do it

TODAY is Earth Day. But how many people remember that, or more importantly, practise the 3Rs of waste management associated with it - reduce, reuse and recycle? With climate change being huge political issues and an eco-friendly lifestyle still far from being the norm, BTLifestyle shines the spotlight on those who have crossed over to the green side. In tomorrow's issue, we meet a growing number of local entrepreneurs who have incorporated eco-friendly policies in their work, whether it's making compostable food packaging, edible cutlery, sustainable apparel or even beer.

While reflecting their personal beliefs about sustainability, these entrepreneurs also show how new and creative technology plays a part in developing products for a woke lifestyle.

In Arts, we head to the Asian Civilisations Museum for an exhibition that examines the concept of Japanese beauty - from 400-year-old woodblock prints of beautiful women to recent photos of immaculate geishas taken by veteran lensman Russell Wong.

On the F&B front, we look at how The Coconut Club, a popular nasi lemak eatery, is undergoing a major revamp under its new owner. We also return to the grungy Japanese food enclave in Orchard Plaza to check out the popular Kakiin Oyster Bar.
