    Tag Heuer

Tag Heuer has boldly reimagined its iconic Formula 1 collection with nine striking new models, each embodying the spirit of speed and style, plus a dash of sustainability. Blending retro aesthetics with cutting-edge solar technology, the collection’s refresh comes at a time when Formula 1 racing is experiencing a surge in global popularity, particularly among younger audiences. Incidentally, Tag is also the race’s official timekeeper from this year.

At the core of the Formula 1 Solargraph lies the Calibre TH50-00 Solargraph movement, a solar quartz engine that converts both natural and artificial light into energy. A mere two minutes of sunlight fuels a full day of operation, while a 40-hour charge sustains the watch for up to 10 months.

The 38 mm case, available in sandblasted steel or lightweight TH-Polylight, nods to the original’s “decroche” silhouette but with ergonomic refinements. Vibrant colourways dominate and there are options aplenty with steel bracelets, embossed rubber straps, or racing-inspired rubber bands that recall the recent Tag x Kith collab.

    IWC

Riding high on the success of the 2023 Ingenieur Automatic 40 revival – a luxury sports watch that elegantly echoed the iconic Gerald Genta-designed Ingenieur SL (Ref 1832) from the 1970s – IWC has significantly expanded the collection at Watches and Wonders Geneva with four compelling new models.

Catering to a wider audience, the Ingenieur Automatic 35 introduces a more wearable 35 mm case for those with slimmer wrists. While compact, it loses none of the Ingenieur’s distinctive character, retaining the signature bezel with its five functional screws, the integrated bracelet, the textured grid dial punctuated by applied indices, and the sophisticated interplay of satin-finished and polished surfaces.

One model is crafted from 18-carat 5N gold featuring a gold-coloured dial, while two come in stainless steel with either a black or a silver-plated dial.

For those seeking a touch of opulence, IWC has unveiled an 18-carat 5N gold iteration of the Ingenieur Automatic 40. This luxurious rendition elevates the sporty design with the warmth and prestige of precious metal.

To achieve a faithful ceramic translation of the emblematic design, the Ingenieur Automatic 42 features an innovative multi-part ceramic case construction. PHOTO: IWC

At the other end of the spectrum, the Ingenieur Automatic 42 in black ceramic offers a stealthy and modern aesthetic. This robust timepiece features a meticulously crafted multi-part ceramic case, showcasing the brand’s expertise in material innovation with its blend of satin-finished, sandblasted and polished elements.

Perhaps the most significant addition is the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 in stainless steel. This marks a notable milestone as the first stainless steel model to unite the distinctive Genta-inspired Ingenieur design with the renowned perpetual calendar complication, originally conceived by Kurt Klaus. This fusion of sporty heritage and horological complexity truly elevates the Ingenieur collection to new heights.

    Jaeger-LeCoultre

Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled the Reverso Tribute Geographic, a fresh take on the travel time complication, powered by the new in-house Calibre 834. The watch, which displays world time on its reverse dial, comes in a steel case and a limited edition of 150 pieces in an 18k pink gold case.

First designed in 1931 to withstand polo matches, the Reverso quickly became an icon. The Tribute Geographic continues this legacy of innovation with its double-sided case and Art Deco lines. Each dial showcases fine craftsmanship, with the front displaying time, small seconds and a Grande Date.

The reverse dial is a standout feature, displaying world time through a rotating 24-hour ring and a world map. The map is laser-engraved and hand-lacquered with a meticulous process that involves hollowing out the areas representing the oceans and filling them with lacquer using a syringe. This labour-intensive process results in a three-dimensional effect. The city names are engraved on the caseback.

The Calibre 834 movement features a 42-hour power reserve and integrates World Time and Grande Date complications. A hidden pusher adjusts the World Time in hourly increments. The Grande Date uses a patented design with digits on the same plane for visual harmony.

A sunray-finished blue dial is used for the steel version, while the pink gold limited edition features a chocolate brown dial. Both come with two interchangeable straps by Casa Fagliano.
