Refreshing take on opera acts
JAPANESE opera singer Satsuki Nagatome brings a touch of home to the stage in her new production. After her operatic debut as Mercedes in Singapore Lyric Opera's Carmen, Nagatome is back with the second instalment of her recital series May Breezes.
Satsuki means May or Mayflower in Japanese. "It is the season to experience refreshing breezes and clear blue skies," she says, promising a performance that will illustrate the season.
The performance will feature familiar favourites like the arias from Faust and Madame Butterfly, which she believes will allow even new opera lovers to enjoy the performance.
