WHY should the German carmakers have the juicy coupe-Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) pie all to themselves? That is the question someone high up at Renault asked one day, although it probably sounded better in French.
The answer was presumably that they shouldn't, because we now have the Renault Arkana Fastback. It exists because SUVs have become so wildly popular that it's no longer enough for a brand to have one or two in its lineup, nor even to have a number of them in different sizes. Now, it's essential to hawk some that seduce the eye, too.
