AFTER the first round at Sentosa Golf Club's Tanjong course, the Audi quattro team was in ninth position. That was when team captain Jeff Mannering stressed that the team would try to stay in the running and hit the ball straighter and further.

The team pulled together and did just that in the second round, scoring 103 points to leapfrog into sixth place on the ladder. Mr Mannering, the managing director of Audi Singapore, was also one of the three hitters of the longest drive, hitting his ball 264 m on Hole 14.

This year, the six members in the Audi quattro team are Mr Mannering, Daniel Watts (no handicap), David Tay (12), Hon Ah Sun (USGA index 16.3), Jeff Goh (10.2) and Cheong Yoke Keng (16.5).
