Romance of the letterpress

IF you think printing is as simple as just pressing a few buttons on a computer, Papypress wants to change that impression.

The local company, started by Ian Koo and his wife Corby Tan, does letterpress printing for wedding invitations and business cards. Incidentally, Mr Koo comes from a family of printers. Apart from the printing business, the couple also conduct regular workshops, which are extremely popular. "Every time we decide to hold a workshop, the slots get filled up really quickly," says Ms Tan. "We have had to turn away several people because our studio space at Sims Drive is just not big enough."

Participants come from all walks of life, from the usual suspects such as designers and architects, to even bankers, hoteliers and engineers.
