Switching to a glass facade brought more light into this home.

FOR ALMOST six years, a Singaporean/Swiss couple living in a conservation corner terrace in the East Coast had to live with passersby peeping into their home through the fixed timber-louvred wall on the side of their house.
"We couldn't get any privacy," says the Singaporean wife who can breathe easier now that the louvres have been turned into an eye-catching glass facade. Nobody can peep inside now - instead they're just admiring the 8m by 3.5m wall of clear and textured glass blocks imported from France.
Although they've been living in the house since 2012, the couple - who are in the finance industry - began to rethink their living space since their needs have changed. Privacy was one issue, but with a three-year-old toddler and 10-month-old baby, they'd also outgrown certain features like the koi pond. "The airwell was pretty much a dead space, too," adds the wife.
