Seek out sanctuary of tiny plants

IF you are the sort who loves plants but also kills them unintentionally, a terrarium could be the ideal solution.

Local retailer Green Banana carries a range of open-terrariums, where cacti and succulents are kept in a glass enclosure. Watering is kept to a minimum, and these terrariums add colour and life to any environment.

Gardening enthusiast Ivan Lim started Green Banana late last year. Each vessel used by Green Banana is carefully crafted and designed to showcase different species of cacti, succulents, moss and even Tillandsia, otherwise known as air plants. "Terrariums are perfect to keep at home or at the office as long as they are placed next to a light source," says Mr Lim. "Plants can also purify the ambient air, and better absorb airborne harmful substances."
