Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton meets children from UBS Singapore’s community partners

MORE than two dozen youths were starstruck when they had the chance to meet seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton on Thursday (Sep 14) at UBS Singapore’s headquarters on Penang Road.
The beneficiaries from UBS Singapore’s community partners through various social service agencies, including Care Corner Youth Services, Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura, the Salvation Army, Children and Youth Group, and Trybe Limited.
They listened to the 38-year-old British racer share some of his motivations and learnings from his incredibly successful motorsport career.
The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team driver, who is in town to compete at the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend, also posed for photographs and handed out signed caps to all the beneficiaries.
Hamilton has triumphed in Singapore four times, in 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2018. UBS has been a partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team since 2011.
UBS Singapore country head Jin Yee Young said that events such as this meet-and-greet with Hamilton “exemplify our belief that by connecting and inspiring the children and youth, we can spark passion and inspire meaningful change for them”.

Through our community impact efforts at UBS Singapore, we are dedicated to giving back, supporting education, and creating opportunities for a better future” said Young, who is also co-head of global wealth management (Asia-Pacific).
Other than meeting Hamilton, the beneficiaries were treated to a show-and-tell session by the Singapore Grand Prix team on what goes on behind the scenes on race day.
