SHERATON Towers Singapore Hotel donated S$15,000 to The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) on Thursday (Dec 8). The move is to make arts training accessible for youths from underserved backgrounds.  The programmes and resources enable financially disadvantaged children and youths to hone their creativity and develop creative thinking, skills which are also applicable in daily life.

This year, three beneficiaries under the tech and art genre at The Little Arts Academy created augmented reality effects. They used moving images of butterflies and cherry blossoms against a musical background.

Steven Long, general manager of Sheraton Towers Singapore Hotel, said: “In service to the underserved communities around us, we seek to bring together talented youths and empower them to showcase their work through this meaningful collaboration.”

This is the third donation the hotel is making to BT BAF. Additionally, since 2019, Sheraton has collaborated three times with the fund’s beneficiaries in making specially designed mooncake boxes for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

BT BAF is managed by TRCL, a not-for-profit arts organisation. Along with The Little Arts Academy, it also supports 10 Square Youth, another arts training centre.
