SHERATON Towers Singapore on Monday (Nov 8) donated a sum of S$15,000 to The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF).

The money will go towards a programme that gives beneficiaries from The Little Arts Academy and 10 Square Youth a platform to showcase their work and talent.

The Business Timeseditor and BT BAF chairman Wong Wei Kong received the cheque from Sheraton Towers Singapore general manager Steven Long.

Also present were The Rice Company Limited's (TRCL) chief operating officer Phan Ming Yen and board member Genii Koh.

TRCL is a non-profit organisation that manages the BT BAF.

Sheraton Hotel has collaborated with BT BAF since 2019. This year, beneficiaries from 10 Square Youth were given the opportunity to create and perform a music piece for the hotel's mooncake boxes.

The Budding Artists Fund was initiated in 2004 and adopted by BT in 2005.

The fund originated from a conviction that no child with strong interest and potential in the arts should be denied the opportunity to develop his or her talents due to a lack of financial resources.
