FOR 26 years, once a year, golf fans headed to the Singapore Island Country Club's (SICC) Bukit course along Sime Road to witness the region's elite players compete in the flesh.
As you drove along the road, all you saw were seemingly endless rows of cars, vans and buses parked neatly by the side, with officials guiding drivers to and from several entry points.
