SINGAPOREAN tenor Corey Koh will take the stage on Dec 10 at Esplanade’s Singtel Waterfront Theatre, in the second edition of the Spirit of Giving concert series, organised by arts and culture charity TRCL and produced by Global Alliance.

Spirit of Giving is an annual charity fundraising concert series that aims to provide a platform to young Singaporean musicians who are based overseas.

The evening will showcase his latest single, Incurably Romantic, performances across multiple languages, as well as selections from his EP, Places.

The 22-year-old, who started classical vocal training at age six, has already established himself in the classical music scene. Under his belt are performances at venues such as New York City’s Carnegie Hall, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall and Vienna’s Musikverein.

His classical training supports his foray into pop, having previously told The Straits Times that he plans to tap his background to create non-classical music.

“I love all kinds of music... genre barriers are quite artificial in nature,” he added.

The second edition of Spirit of Giving follows the inaugural show in 2023, which starred West End performer Nathania Ong.

Net proceeds from the concert are donated to The Business Times Budding Artists Fund, with beneficiaries and their families invited to attend the programme for free.

The fund, which was launched in 2004, has supported more than 23,000 children and youth. It aims to make arts education more accessible by providing them with opportunities to participate in programmes and events, among others.
