Slice of Big Apple at Jean-Georges' new Singapore outpost
DEMPSEY Hill is set to get a touch of Big Apple chic with one of New York's most celebrated chefs, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, opening his first restaurant The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar on Friday.
It's the 59-year-old celebrity chef's first venture in South-east Asia and also the latest addition to COMO Dempsey, the upscale lifestyle enclave that currently houses the world's first Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant Candlenut, Japanese import Ippoh Tempura Bar by Ginza Ippoh, and gourmet supermarket Como Marketplace.
The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar's elegant interiors are designed by renowned architect and designer, Paola Navone; and features signature elements such as an open kitchen so diners can watch the cooking process as a performance art, and a communal dining space that promises to make the experience more familial and relaxed.
