SMALL and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) took centre stage at the fifth edition of the Brands For Good awards, coming out on top among businesses enacting positive change in Singapore.
Foreword Coffee, TDCX, and NannyPro clinched three of the four “Champion” titles handed out at the awards ceremony, held at Marina Bay Sands on May 4. The fourth title went to established healthcare provider Sian Chay Medical Institution.
A total of 36 companies took home awards that evening for their efforts in “activist entrepreneurship” – the practice of combining traditional aspects of entrepreneurship with activism to create a more values-based approach to business, said Brands For Good.
Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Edwin Tong, was the event’s guest of honour. He said: “We need a growing group of businesses in Singapore who care for society and the communities they are in. The winners we see today are the trailblazers who will help to lift up our next generation of leaders.”
Nominations for next year’s edition are now open.
