So much ambition, so little time
Helmi Yusof
SHARDA Harrison is a gem of a performer. She moves seamlessly between dance and drama, exuding warmth and grace, and she is to my mind one of the best young actresses on stage.
But her ability to switch between genres and disciplines is precisely what's missing in the rest of the cast of Gitanjali(I Feel The Earth Move), an ambitious play that mixes dance, drama, poetry and history to tell a story of a world whose borders are shrinking.
Written by Haresh Sharma and directed by Alvin Tan of The Necessary Stage, Gitanjali attempts to weave several threads together to create a hybridised whole, but they remain strangely and stubbornly divided and distinct.
