Netflix's action film about ex-military men thrives in its depiction of male camaraderie

FRESH OFF ITS Oscar victory with the Mexican film Roma, Netflix has just released its star-studded actioner Triple Frontier, set in the wild terrain of South America. Reviews have been mostly positive, with leading men Oscar Isaac and Ben Affleck chalking up praise for their strong performances.
Over the weekend, three of its stars - Affleck, Charlie Hunnam (of Sons Of Anarchy fame) and Garrett Hedlund (of Tron: Legacy fame), together with producer Charles Roven - flew to Singapore for a promotional tour, with regional reporters from countries such as Australia and India converging on Marina Bay Sands for the press conference.
Affleck enthused: "On one level, Triple Frontier is a tension-filled heist movie... But underneath that is really a character story of these professional soldiers who were special operatives for many years, have bonded together closely, and who now take a mission that is morally questionable. And underneath that is also a parable about war and military intervention (in other countries)."
