Solutions for urban living
IN cities, living spaces are shrinking fast. If you think your current living room isn’t much bigger than the bedroom you had while growing up, you’re not alone. But the good thing is that there are solutions to living in smaller homes that won’t cramp your lifestyle.
In this week’s edition of BT Lifestyle, we spotlight the Design Innovation Programme (DIP) of the Singapore Furniture Industries Council, which has helped to grow creativity in this sphere. The DIP fosters partnerships between Singapore’s local furniture brands and local and international designers to produce commercially viable lifestyle products. We have a look at some of the finished projects – furniture and home accessories among them – that make urban living more comfortable, and even stylish.
Meanwhile, get fit in a new-age gym that wants to “celebrate you” instead of making you feel bad about your body or fitness level. We take a look at lifestyle studio Ally, which has pulled in a legion of millennials who buy into its plush, hotel-like surroundings, where you can even have cake and coffee after a workout.
Check out also Singapore’s first AI film festival, which features AI-generated movies that are frighteningly good and challenge the future of cinema as we know it.
In Dining, join the shopping-centre crowd that’s flocking to the new Aussie-import Spanish restaurant, Movida.
For all this and more, don’t miss this Friday’s issue of BT.
